Same Fight, Different Day

Do you and your partner go around the same mountain over and over again, with the same actual words being spoken once it gets revved up? That’s because once familiar feelings are stirred up, the same responses are triggered, therefore here comes the predictable (even if it's ugly) responses.

This can begin early in the relationship and go on for years without help. To investigate what is trying to be communicated, what is actually being perceived, and getting to the root of the trigger is key. It might not even have anything to do with each other, but a previous experience or a grounded fear is highly possible. Bringing that out, understanding what is really happening emotionally, and developing coping/communication skills to move past this mountain and move forward in life, love, friendship, and intimacy.

Not an easy task, but the rewards can be fantastic. Counseling can help facilitate this search of what is going on; please call 719-375-4622 if you’d like help with this challenge.
